| The
new RC-85 becomes the second largest ASV All Surface Loader, with
the largest being the RC-100 that was introduced in 2003. The RC-60
fits squarely in the middle of the All Surface Loader product line,
with the RC-50 and RC-30 rounding out the more compact end. RC-60,
RC-50 and RC-50 models are also available in Turf Edition configurations.
The introduction of the RC-85 brings a new value
point to the compact track loader industry. The RC-85 offers an
exceptional balance of power and machine weight, as well as affordability.
This makes it the best solution for tough applications needing maximum
efficiency. The RC-85 is powered by a naturally-aspirated Caterpillar
3054C and is rated at 86 gross horsepower.
“Though it is our second most powerful, the
RC-85 still offers more horsepower, more hydraulic flow and more
torque than many other compact track loaders on the market today,”
said Brad Lemke, director of new product development at ASV. “Considering
that the RC-85 has most of the features of the RC-100, yet is priced
competitively, the value is enormous.”
As with all ASV machinery, the RC-85 achieves much
of its power and traction from the track system. The RC-85, like
other ASV All Surface Loaders, is the only machine in its class
designed from the ground up to run on a suspended rubber track undercarriage.
Torsion axle suspension of the undercarriage helps maximize contact
with the ground for better traction and a much smoother ride than
rigid-mounted track systems. This increases load retention, makes
operation more comfortable and increases cycle times through a workday.
Also, like other ASV equipment, it does not have steel in the rubber
track, so operation is smooth, quiet and with much less friction.
No steel inside the ASV track also eliminates rust corrosion –
a common condition on other track systems that leads to delamination
and failure.
With its manual quick attach, the RC-85 can be fitted
with virtually any industry-standard attachment, including a full
line of performance-matched ASV Posi-ToolTM attachments. The RC-85
includes a special electric connector to simplify installation of
Posi-Tool attachments that require electric power, such as a snow
blower.
Concurrently, ASV introduces the new RC-60 All Surface
Loader. The RC-60 is a mid-sized loader with a Caterpillar 3024CT
60-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine. It fills the size class
between the new RC-85 and the RC-50.
“The RC-60, along with the RC-85, provides
ASV dealers with the largest line-up within the compact track loader
industry, allowing contractors to utilize our advanced technology
in whatever size fits their need,” said Brad Lemke, director
of new product development.
The RC-60 comes standard with selectable self-leveling.
In addition, the loader arms feature a new efficient, robust design
similar to ASV’s larger All Surface Loaders. The RC-60 uses
a suspended rubber track undercarriage similar to the one on the
RC-50, with 15-inch wide tracks and only 3.1 psi ground pressure.
ASV designs, manufactures and sells all-purpose
crawlers, all surface loaders and related accessories and attachments.

attachments like dozer blades, backhoes, augers
and snow blowers. The track system also allows the RC-50 and R-50
to tread over sensitive terrain without doing harm and work in wet
or soft conditions where a wheeled machine cannot.
